Not Just for Easter Eggs – Free Crochet Pattern

More than just Easter eggs, this a quick and simple crochet project that is great for using up scraps of yarn. My youngest daughter loves them in colourful variegated yarn so she can pretend they are dinosaur eggs for her favourite triceratops, Nightmare (who protects her from bad dreams).

They make perfect dinosaur eggs!

The perfect yarn for colourful eggs

I, on the other hand, find they fit nicely in the palm of my hand and make great little stress relievers for when life is throwing obstacles in my way.

Or a way to help you let off a bit of steam

Of course, they would also make great everlasting Easter eggs to decorate your home or to hide in your garden for the little ones to find.

Or use them as Easter eggs

I used a 2.5mm crochet hook and a dk/ sport weight cotton yarn but any weight yarn will do, as long as you go down a couple of hook sizes to create a tight fabric.

The eggs are made in the round, in a continuous spiral amigurumi-style.
